Michael C. Hall, best known for his roles in Six Feet Under and Dexter, stars in the charming and off-kilter comic drama about a schlubby 35 year-old New Yorker who can’t seem to get his life together until the sexually precocious daughter of a former high-school classmate comes along and opens his mind to new possibilities. Morris Bliss, who is clamped in the jaws of New York City inertia, wants to travel but has no money; he needs a job but has no prospects; he still shares an apartment with his widowed father (Peter Fonda); and perhaps worst of all, the premature death of his mother still lingers and has left him emotionally walled up. When he finds himself wrapped up in an awkward relationship with 18 year-old Stephanie, Morris quickly discovers his static life unraveling and opening up in ways that are long overdue. East Fifth Bliss is brimming with witty dialogue and the extraordinary performances of a strong, stellar cast.
