NORTHWEST EMERGING SHORTS

Your vote counts! Winners of both the NW Emerging Artist Feature Competition and the NW Emerging Artist Shorts Competition will be determined by a combined vote of our Special Jury and by the Film Festival audience. The winners will be honored in a special Closing Day event at our festival at 6:30pm on Friday, October 22nd at High Street Cinema.

There are twelve competing shorts; six of them have been bundled in a package and the other six will play once each in front of each of the six competing NW Emerging Feature Films.

Jake is struggling, can't hold a job and his relationship is on the rocks. When he goes to collect an old debt, he comes to find more than he expected, a dead body and a substantial amount of drugs. In an attempt to get out of the slump he is in, he ends up losing more than he could have ever gained.

A COUNTRY WEDDING

Infatuated with his cousin Charity since childhood, Jake is an emotional wreck as he's forced to not only attend her shotgun wedding to the town loser, but to also serve as the best man. It's a sad, funny, small town tale of love gone wrong.

TROUT ON THE WIND: The Hemlock Dam Removal Story
Pacific NW Premiere!
Directed by Ralph Bloemers & Sam Drevo. (23 mins.)

Highlighting the successful removal of Hemlock Dam and the restoration of Trout Creek in the lower Columbia River Gorge, this lovely film bears witness to the coming together of a local community and how they provided the heart to a modern day river restoration.
