Danny Foster doesn't have much: an apartment as small as his paychecks, no family, and a lackluster music career. Yet for him, "every day is a great day to be alive," an attitude he gained from his mother's unwavering optimism during her losing battle with cancer. Now a struggling New York City songwriter, Danny (played by charming writer/actor Kent Moran) thinks it's surely love at first sight when the lovely Ariana is seated in his section at the restaurant where he waits tables. Little does he know that she is a wealthy hearing-impaired girl from Greenwich, Connecticut (the enchanting Alexia Rasmussen) who has never been allowed to experience the freedoms her young adult life should allow. Controlled by her overly-protective mother (Cybill Shepherd), Ariana finds herself torn between her family loyalties and the temptation of first love. Though she is unable to hear the music she inspires Danny to write, Ariana must choose between her past and her future and fight for a love that, if given the chance, might just change her life. Ultimately, the two understand that the passion that fuels creativity truly does come from the heart.
