Co-written by the author of Road To Perdition, The Last Lullaby is a dark, emotionally rich and languid film noir. Price (Tom Sizemore), a former hitman, is struggling to cope with the slow pace of retirement, but with it has come a restlessness and boredom he wasn’t expecting. One night, his killer instinct leads him to follow a few suspicious men to a remote cabin where his past tendencies suggest he shoot first and ask questions later. When this recent stunt attracts the attention of a new, rich acquaintance, Price is lured out of retirement and hired to kill a beautiful young woman (Sasha Alexander). This sometimes violent and often mysterious story transcends its genre by taking a sincere, fresh and meditative approach to the depiction of its characters. Sizemore’s Price is a man of few words, yet his eyes reflect the pain and loneliness of a man torn between which path his life should take.
