DIGGERS is the funny, bittersweet story about a tight-knit group of friends forced to embrace change as their small-town way of life is soon to be altered forever. This well-observed story of local clam diggers on the south shore of Long Island during the Seventies (that is: the Hamptons before the obscenely wealthy arrived) teems with excellent performances from an ensemble cast including Paul Rudd, Ron Eldard and Josh Hamilton. This rich slice-of-life from America’s not-too-distant past recalls such ‘70s character-driven staples as DINER, THE LAST PICTURE SHOW and BREAKING AWAY, and, like those films, DIGGERS boasts a fantastic cast and a keen sense of period precision as well as a heartfelt blend of drama and humor.
