“A Spine-tingling, narrative mastery!” – LOS ANGELES TIMES

This arresting documentary, produced by Jane Campion, follows the remarkable story of a 13-year-old Japanese girl abducted on her way home from school by North Korean spies. For nearly 30 years, her parents continued to search for their daughter, yearning to discover what had happened to her, questioning if she was even alive. Beginning with the day of her abduction, we follow one family’s astonishing journey as their very personal tragedy develops into a battle between two nations and, finally, rises to a shocking climax. In this incredibly human story, an ordinary banker and his housewife are caught up in a strange painful journey, one full of bizarre twists they never could have imagined. ABDUCTION is ultimately a moving, emotional testament to the unbreakable bonds of love.
