THANK YOU

We thank all of you for your involvement in the inaugural Salem Film Festival.   “Show Me the Path”, the Youth and Amateur feature of this year’s festival is gearing up to be an intriguing and exciting week.  In addition to the multiple independent features playing on High St., aspiring filmmakers will be screening award winning work and taking the opportunity to learn from industry professionals at the IKE Box on Thursday night and at the Historic Elsinore Theatre on Saturday, and everyone is invited!

All submissions are finished going through the jury process.  Scores have been tabulated & screening schedules are up (View them NOW) . Submissions will be looping all week at the IKE Box where an IKE Customer’s Choice Ballot will determine what film will screen in the “Wild Card” spot at the Award Screening Saturday afternoon at the Historic Elsinore Theater.

Tuesday April 18th at 7pm the IKE Box will be featuring the 72-Hour Project Screening Engagement.  20 groups of filmmakers embarked on a challenge to produce a film from scratch in 72-Hours, 10 emerged triumphant.  See them all in the IKE Box Movie House, projected live and loud, on the Main floor. Filmmakers are encouraged to attend, share stories, and field audience questions.

Wednesday April 19th at 7pm the IKE Box will host the General Competition Honorable Submission Screening.  There’s too much interesting material to fit into the Saturday Award Screening so we’ve got a special IKE Box Movie House engagement reserved for the rest.  This will include all general competition entries not being screened at the Saturday afternoon award screening and possibly a couple that will…  Filmmakers invited to participate.  Invite your friends and family.

Saturday April 22nd will offer the highly anticipated Award Screening at the Historic Elsinore Theatre, followed by the Heder Brothers “Show Me The Path” Forum.  The doors open for the Award Screening at 12:30pm with screenings beginning at 1pm.  Following the Awards Screening, plan on returning at 3:45pm to participate in the Forum featuring Doug, Dan, and Jon Heder of Greasy Entertainment.  Hear them discuss how they made it from Salem to the world of video game creation, animation, and major motion pictures.
